Frantz will enter his second season (2019) as assistant baseball coach at Lock Haven.
Last season (2018), the Haven posted a 22-19 (12-14 PSAC) record that included a notable 3-4 games won over the then #6 West Chester Rams.
Frantz helped place two Bald Eagles, Cayden Stover and Nick Stotler, on the 2018 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region honors. Stover (Sr.) earned Atlantic Region First Team honors at second base while Stotler (R-Jr.) earned Second Team honors in the outfield.
In all the Haven placed 7 players on the 2018 PSAC All-Conference Teams including Scott Leiholf who earned East Freshman of the Year. Cayden Stover, Liam McArthur, Breton LaRose, and Kolby DeHaas all earned First Team honors. Nick Stotler and Justin Sleigh joined Leitholf on the Second Team.
On February 6, 2018 Nate Frantz was named the Lock Haven University assistant baseball coach.
Stover is excited to bring Frantz, a Williamsport, Pennsylvania native, onto the staff.
“We are very fortunate to have a coach like Frantz join our program,” said Stover. “His lengthy collegiate coaching experience will be valuable in many ways, including the development of our hitters and infielders”

Frantz joins The Haven program with over 10 years of college coaching experience.
From 1999 to 2002 he was an assistant coach at Keystone Junior College. While there, he helped lead Keystone to three straight trips to the Region 19 Tournament. From 2002 to 2003, he served as an assistant coach at Division I Seton Hall University.
Frantz also spent time as the head coach at Lehigh Carbon Community College from 2007 to 2008 and he was the pitching coach on DeSales’ staff during the 2009 season.
In 2010, he rejoined the Keystone College staff and helped the team to a 30-9 record and guided the Giants to the Division III Tournament.
Under Frantz’s guidance a number of players have been selected in the MLB Draft.
Frantz’s collegiate playing career started at Keystone Junior College where he earned All-Region honors before joining the LHU program. He graduated from LHU in 1999 with a degree in Sports Administration.
Frantz currently resides in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania with his wife and family.
