LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swim team won seven of the 11 events contested tonight and the Lady Eagles cruised past visiting Mansfield University 99-80 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dual.
Lock Haven was led by 1-2-3 sweeps in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
The Lady Eagles also got a pair of individual wins from standout
Brittany Rehrig (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington). The junior won the 100 butterfly and the 200 freestyle.
LHU went 1-2-3 in the 50 free, thanks to
Kristen Capretti (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest),
Carley Nitchie (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) and
Jenna Brooks (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore).
Lock Haven also swept the 100 butterfly thanks to the Rehrig, Brooks and Sam Durham (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville).
Rehrig's winning100 butterfly time of 59.19 was a PSAC qualifying mark. She also won the 200 free with a PSAC mark of 2:00.31.
Lock Haven returns to action on Saturday, November 5 at 1 p.m. when the Lady Eagles travel to East Stroudsburg University.
