LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (6-6, 3-2 PSAC) cruised past Cheyney University (0-8, 0-5 PSAC) 3-0 (25-8, 25-5 & 25-11) tonight in the Lady Eagles 2011 home-opener.

With the win, The Haven gets back to .500 on the year at 6-6. The win also puts LHU at 3-2 in PSAC play and the Lady Eagles are 2-0 vs. PSAC East opponents.

Eleven different players accounted for Lock Haven's 30 kills on the night.

Leading the way was Grace Novacek (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell), who had six, while hitting a sizzling .857.

Freshman Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) had five kills and hit .428.

Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) and Alexa Garrity Boothwyn, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) both had three aces on the night.

Xuan added three kills and Garrity had a match-high 21 assists.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m. when they travel to PSAC East foe Kutztown.
