Box Score INDIANA, Pa.  – For 30 minutes it looked as if the Lock Haven University football team was poised for the upset, but No. 17 Indiana (Pa.) University scored 35 second-half points to drop LHU, 42-0 in the PSAC West Opener for both teams.

The Bald Eagles (0-3, 0-1 PSAC West) went toe-to-toe with the 17th ranked Crimson Hawks in the first half, thanks to a sensational defensive effort. After scoring on its first possession of the game, IUP was forced to punt on four of its next five possessions of the first half. Lock Haven also forced and recovered a fumble late in the second quarter.

IUP (3-0, 1-0 PSAC West) led just 7-0 at the break, but the Crimson Hawks offense exploded for 35 second-half points on the way to the shutout of LHU.

The Crimson Hawks got a huge play to start the second half as Pat Brewer took the kick all 81-yards to the house, putting IUP up 14-0. The kickoff return to open the second half, sparked a 14-point third quarter and IUP added 21 points in the final period.

Defensively, The Haven was led by starting safety George Christas (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown), who had a game-high 10 tackles. He had six solo stops.

Matt Kirchner (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made eight tackles and Chris Englar (York, Pa./Central York) recorded seven as they did everything they could on defense to keep LHU in the game.

Jarrett Kratzer (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) made his 16th career start at quarterback and went 7-for-15, for 86 yards.

Brandon Brader (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) carried the ball 19 times for 46 yards and Frankie Probst (Lock Haven, Pa./Robert Morris Univ.) enjoyed his breakout game, making three catches for 66 yards.

IUP racked up 423 total yards of offense, including 343 on the ground. Harvey Tuck rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns to lead the way for the Crimson Hawks.

The Bald Eagles finally return home next weekend after opening the season with three straight road games for the first time since 2005.

LHU hosts Edinboro next Saturday (September 22) at 3 p.m.
