Swimming falls on the road at Kutztown, 137-125

Schnars & Rehrig each win two individual events

KUTZTOWN, Pa.  – The Lock Haven University swim team won seven-of-14 events, including a pair of relays, but the Lady Eagles fell to host Kutztown University, 137-125 today in PSAC action.

Last night, Lock Haven cruised past visiting Juniata, 117.5-82.5.

LHU (4-3) won both relay-events today and picked up five individual victories.

Brittany Rehrig (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) and Kayla Schnars (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte) both picked up a pair of individuals wins, while Laura Stephens (West Chester, Pa./Univ. of Vermont) won the 100-yard breaststroke.

Rehrig won the 100-yard freestyle (54.32) and the 200-yard IM (2:14.63).

Schnars won the 100 (1:03.48) and 200-yard (2:19.45) backstroke events.

Stephens won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.19.

The Lady Eagles broke a pool record in the first event of the day as LHU took home victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a record-time of 1:51.20. Joining Schnars, Stephens and Rehrig was Carley Nitchie (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Aiar), as the foursome set the new mark. 

Lock Haven returns to action next week at the two-day Vulcan Dual Meet Challenge Invitational hosted by California (Pa.) on Friday and Saturday, January 25-26.
