Swimming opens season with loss at ESU

Danielle Parowski debuts with pair of wins for The Haven

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Lock Haven University swim team opened the season with a 160-102 loss in dual-meet action at East Stroudsburg.
 
Transfer Danielle Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Univ. of Pitt) made her Lady Eagle debut a special one and picked up a pair of wins.
 
Parowski led a 1-2 Haven finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.78. Kristen Capretti (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) was second with a time of 2:03.72.
 
Parowski added a win in the 500 freestyle with a time 5:21.34. The time is a PSAC qualifying mark and the fourth fastest time in Lock Haven history. Parowski's time in the 200 free was also a PSAC mark
 
Laura Stephens (West Chester, Pa./Univ. of Vermont) added a PSAC qualifying mark in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.06) on the way to the win.
 
Kayla Schnars (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte) added a win in the 100 backstroke (1:04.44).
 
The Lady Eagles return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Mansfield in dual action (1 p.m.)

East Stroudsburg won 10 of 14 events today … LHU head coach Joel Blesh is in his second year at the helm of the program.
