The Lock Haven University field hockey team is set for the 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament.

Lock Haven will be making its first tournament appearance since 2010, the Lady Eagles first season in the A-10.

Setting the stage:
The 2013 A-10 Tournament is set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9 at the University of Massachusetts' Garber Field in Amherst, Mass.

Lock Haven (4-3) was awarded the No. 3 seed for the tournament.
Â
Host-UMass (7-0) is the No. 1 seed and Richmond (6-1) is the tournament's No. 2 seed. Lock Haven and VCU had identical 4-3 conference marks, but LHU beat VCU during the regular season.

Lock Haven and Richmond play at 11 a.m. on Friday (Nov. 8) and UMass and VCU are set to tangle at 2 p.m.

Saturday's Championship match is set for 2 p.m.

Strong regular season:
Lock Haven capped off the regular season on Sunday (11/3) with a 7-0 shutout of Saint Louis. With the win, LHU finished the season 14-6 overall, winning four of its last six matches.

Best in the nation:
Lock Haven finished the regular season No. 1 among all NCAA Division I teams in shutouts per game. LHU recorded 10 shutouts in 20 games (0.50) and is ranked ahead of Stanford and UConn, who round out the top three teams in the category.

White's wall:
A huge reason behind Lock Haven's success all year has been the tremendous play off goalie
Elaina White. She started all 20 games for LHU, playing 1,379-plus minutes and she was the goalie of record in every match for LHU. On the year she had 113 saves and seven shutouts. White is ranked third in the nation in save percentage (.819), ninth in goals against average (1.27) and 18
th in win-loss percentage.

Ranked in the RPI:
Following the regular season, Lock Haven is currently ranked No. 29 in the most RPI. Massachusetts is No. 12 and Richmond is No. 25.

Balanced attack:
12 different players scored for Lock Haven this year and eight have three or more goals on the season. Leading the way was
Nakira Downes, who has a team-high, 11.
Taylor Kennedy and
Lydia George add 10 and nine goals, respectively.

Game-changer:
The speedy
Nakira Downes is a true game-changer for Lock Haven. She's ranked among conference leaders with 35 points. Her team-high 11 goals and team-high 13 assists are a huge reason behind The Haven's success this year.

D-FENCE:
Lock Haven's 10 shutouts are no fluke. Lock Haven has been the benefactor of strong goaltending and a true shutdown-defensive unit. Leading the way is senior
Kelly Harsh, who has started all 20 games for LHU. She can do it all and has added seven goals and six assists.
Steph Ebersole,
Jenna Felice and
Rebekah Hershey have all started every game for Lock Have as well.
