For the second time this year, LHU hits the road on Saturday (Sept. 28) for a PSAC East road game at No. 11 Bloomsburg.

LHU is coming off a 12-10 win over Cheyney last weekend, while the 11th ranked Huskies took down Kutztown 31-12.

The series:
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series, which dates back to 1908, 40-39-3. The two teams last met in 2011, with Bloom winning 34-3. Lock Haven's last win came in 2003 (W, 17-15) and the two teams have only met three times since.

LHU 1st & 10:

1.      For the first time since 1992, Lock Haven enters Week 4 with a 2-1 record.
2.      Lock Haven's two wins already mark the most in a season since a 2-9 mark in 2006. LHU beat Mansfield & Clarion that year.
3.      Last week marked Lock Haven's first-ever PSAC East game. Saturday marks LHU's first ever PSAC East road contest.
4.      Last weekend's win over Cheyney (PSAC East) marked LHU first PSAC Divisional win since a 2007 win over Clarion (PSAC West).

Back on the road:
Saturday marks Lock Haven's second road test of the year. LHU fell to former PSAC West rival Clarion 30-13 in Week 2. Saturday is the first of back-to-back road games for LHU. In all, LHU plays on the road five times this season.

Tough at home:
With the win over Cheyney, LHU extended its home winning streak to three games.

PSAC East:
For the first time in school history, Lock Haven will play football as part of the PSAC's Eastern Division in 2013. LHU made the move to the East with the July addition of Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown. The PSAC is the largest football playing conference in the NCAA.

Winning ways:
LHU is now winners of three of the last four games, dating back to last year. When LHU won its season-opener at home vs. West Virginia State (Sept. 7) 31-13, it marked back-to-back wins for The Haven. LHU hadn't won two straight since back-to-back wins over Cheyney and Mansfield in 2002. Prior to the win over Cheyney last year, Lock Haven's last win was the 2007 season-finale at Clarion. The 2012 season-ending win snapped a 52 game losing skid. The Haven's last winning season was 1981.

Brader in the record books:
Brandon Brader is fifth  in all-time in career rushing yards. He now has 2,070 career rushing yards and is just 20 yards away from the fourth spot (Chris Klinger – 2,090 – 1963-65).

Last time out (9/21/13):
Lock Haven edged Cheyney 12-10 in the PSAC East Opener for both team last Saturday. In the end, a safety was the difference in the win. It was only fitting as inclement weather and sloppy play forced the two teams to combine for nine fumbles and six interceptions.

Cheyney took a 7-0 lead after 63-yard TD run by Nahum Purdie with 6:02 left in the opening quarter. Lock Haven was quick to strike back and with just 25 seconds left in the first quarter, Dillon Mazzoni hit Jeremy Cornelius on a 26-yard TD pass.

The Wolves led 10-7 at halftime after Jewel Jones's early second-quarter field goal put Cheyney ahead.

Lock Haven placekicker Alex Boumerhi answered however for LHU. His 46-yard blast evened things at 10-10. It marked the longest field goal for an LHU kicker since a 43-yarder by Dan Hagerman in 2005 vs. Cheyney.

A muffed punt with 5:53 left in the third quarter led LHU to the two points off the safety and it proved to be enough for LHU to hang for their first PSAC Divisional win since the 2007 season finale at Clarion (PSAC West).

Lock Haven only had 121 total yards of offense and 63 came on the ground. Once again Brandon Brader led the way with 56 yards on 17 carries.

Matt Kirchner and Tony Ballon were spectacular on defense and each made 11 tackles. George Christas added seven solo stops. The Bald Eagle defense recorded two sacks, seven TFLs, forced one fumble and LHU's three interceptions came from three different players.

With heavy hearts:
When the Bald Eagles take the field this season, it will be with heavy hearts. On Saturday, March 23 senior Skyler Wool died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Wool, a Jersey Shore, Pa. native was a 2012 Football Gazette All-Super Region 1 Team member, a two-time All-PSAC selection and a two-time Gene Upshaw Division II Linemen of the Year award nominee.  The Bald Eagles will wear a commemorative decal with Wool's jersey number (92) on the back of their helmets during the 2013 season in honor of their former teammate and captain.
