Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team opened the 2013 season today with a pair of big wins at the Hampton Inn Ram Rumble Tournament, hosted by Shepherd University.

Lock Haven (2-0) opened the day with a 3-1 (26-24, 19-25, 25-21 & 25-18) win over Pace and the Lady Eagles followed it up with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-15 & 26-24) victory over host-Shepherd.

Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) led the way for LHU in the win over Pace. She had 25 kills and hit .375. She also added a pair of blocks.

Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) led the offense with 49 assists.

Bethany Burns (Erie, Pa./McDowell) led LHU with 21 digs, while Brown added 13.

Against Shepherd, Anderson was again the leader with nine kills, while Bailey Farthing (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) added seven.

Brown dished out 33 assists in the win.

LHU is right back at it tomorrow (Saturday, September 7) at the Hampton Inn Ram Rumble Tournament with matches against Bowie State and Barry.

Match Notes:
- Last year, LHU went 26-11 overall and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 15th time in school history.
- LHU was 16-3 in PSAC play and advanced to the PSAC Tournament championship match. Lock Haven won the PSAC East regular season title for the fifth straight time.
- Despite four-of-8 first-place votes, LHU was picked second in the PSAC Preseason Coaches' Poll behind Shippensburg. LHU beat Ship twice last year.
- Senior Bailey Farthing was an All-Region and All-Conference selection last year.
- LHU has two seniors, two sophomores, eight juniors and four freshmen on the roster in 2013.
