The Lock Haven University field hockey is set to travel the short distance to University Park, Pennsylvania tomorrow (Tuesday, September 23) night to take on No. 6 Penn State at 7 p.m.

st all-time meeting between the local NCAA Division I squads.

Setting the stage for LHU: Â
The Lady Eagles enter tomorrow's game riding a six-game win streak. This past Saturday, LHU opened Atlantic 10 Conference play with a 3-1 win over Saint Louis.
Rachel Valentine scored twice for The Haven in the victory.

Lock Haven's play thus far in 2014 has come in the form of a total-package. The Lady Eagles are outscoring opponents 26-8. LHU led all NCAA Division I teams in shutouts last season with 10 and the Lady Eagles already have two this year.

Taylor Herold leads the way for the Nittany Lions. She has six goals and two assists (14 points), while Jenna Chrismer has five goals and four assists on the season. Goalie Kylie Licata is 5-2 with a solid 1.11 goals against average and a .849 save percentage.

A close connection: LHU assistant coach
Mallory Weisen is a 2008 Penn State graduate and former standout for the Nittany Lions. While at Penn State, she garnered numerous individual honors, while also helping Penn State to a number of team successes, including the 2005 Big 10 Conference Championship. In 2007, Weisen was named a 2007 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Third Team All-American and was named to the 2007 NCAA All-Tournament Team while leading PSU to a National Runner-up finish. She was a two-time All-Mid-East selection and a two-time Academic All-Big 10 Selection.

Ayla Halus was also a standout at PSU. While at Penn State, Halus, a goalie - was a First Team All-Region player and a Second Team All-American. During the 2010 season, she led the nation with a .826 save-percentage. Over her career, Halus recorded 19 shutouts. The former First Team All-Big Ten selection was huge reason behind Penn State's 2011 Big Ten Championship. She graduated from Penn State in 2012.

A historic matchup: Lock Haven and Penn State are meeting for the 41
st time in a series dating back to 1954. LHU leads the all-time series 21-17-3. Penn State won 3-0 last season in Lock Haven.
