MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Despite a 143-112 dual meet loss at Millersville, the Lock Haven University swimming team saw several Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks and a number of Bald Eagles recorded season-best times.
Leading the way was
Danielle Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Pitt), who took home wins in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events.
Parowski opened the day with a win in the 200 free with a season-best mark of 1:58.86, which marked an improvement in an event she had already qualified for the PSAC Championships in. She added a PSAC mark in the 100 free with a time of 55.46, which was good enough for the victory.
Taylor Andress (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 12:25.22.
Nicole Martellotti (Pittsburgh/Obama-Academy) added another PSAC mark in the 100-yard backstroke. She was second with a time of 1:01.86.
In the 200-yard backstroke,
Jackie Bingham (West Chester, Pa./West Chester) was second with a time of 2:24.05.
Erin Kazmierczak (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) was second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:08.05).
Lock Haven closed the meet by going 1-2-3 in the 200-yard IM and winning the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The Bald Eagles will return to the pool for the two-day (November 21-22) Diamond City Invite, hosted by King's College.
