Pandolf propels No. 1 Lady Eagles past Seton Hill, 17-5 in PSAC Semifinal matchup

Pandolf tallied game-high eight goals; Lady Eagles advance to third straight PSAC title game

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) led all-scorers in today's contest with eight goals as the No. 1 Lock Haven University Lacrosse team downed visiting No. 14 Seton Hill University in today's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) semifinal matchup at Charlotte Smith Field.
 
With the win, Lock Haven, the tournament's top-seed advances to tomorrow's title game. It will be LHU's third straight PSAC title game.
 
No. 9 Mercyhurst (14-3) took down No. 13 West Chester (13-4) in the second semifinal of the day, 10-9 in overtime, setting up a championship clash with host-Lock Haven in a rematch of the 2014 PSAC championship.
 
Today's win marked the longest winning streak in LHU history with 17 this season.

Lock Haven (17-0) was firing on all cylinders, netting four straight goals in the first four minutes of action.
 
The Lady Eagles held momentum for much of the first half, allowing a lone Seton Hill (14-5) goal in the 14th minute of action.  LHU held a, 8-1 lead at the break.
 
Seton Hill and Lock Haven exchanged a goal each in the first three minutes of the second half to give LHU a, 9-2 lead.
 
The Griffins fought for control but Lock Haven's defense proved to be the best in the nation allowing only three more goals in the half.
 
LHU held SHU to five goals, the lowest offensive output for the No. 14 Griffins.
 
The balanced Lady Eagles attack continued to drive to the net, as LHU sealed a, 17-5 Haven victory.
 
Pandolf led all-scorers in today's contest with eight goals and four groundballs.  The eight goals marked the most goals to date for a PSA player in the PSAC Tournament.  The quick-footed midfielder added three caused turnovers and two draw controls.
 
Senior Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) recorded a solid game with a hat trick and a pair of draw controls.
 
Junior Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township), the recently All-PSAC First Team selection, dominated the draw with a team-high four controls and three caused turnovers.  The junior midfielder added a pair of goals in the win.
 
Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) directed the Haven attack with a game-high four assists and added a draw control.
 
The LHU defensive unit was led by Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) who recorded five crucial saves.  Junior Kelly Close (Unionville, Pa./Unionville) returned to the field after hindered by a minor injury for two weeks.  Close recorded a solid performance, as she caused one turnover.
 
Lock Haven was remarkable as the Lady Eagles recorded 18-for-20 successful clear attempts.
 
The Lady Eagles outshot the Griffins 33-to-11 and tallied 13 draw controls.
 
Emily Fagan led Seton Hill with a hat trick and two draw controls.
 
Lock Haven beat Seton Hill in the first meeting of the 2015 season on the road, 11-7.
 
Tomorrow's (Saturday, May 2) PSAC Championship between Lock Haven and Mercyhurst is set for 1 p.m.
