LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Danielle Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Pitt) won the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events, and
Nicole Martellotti (Pittsburgh/Obama Academy) and
Jackie Bingham (West Chester, Pa./West Chester) both picked up an individual win, but the Lock Haven University swimming team was downed by Kutztown University, 162-100 today.
Prior to today's meet, head coach
Joel Blesh and the Bald Eagles honored three LHU senior swimmers - Parowski,
Emily Shultz (Lock Haven, Pa./Stony Brook) and
Amanda Thomas (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany).
Parowski won the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times of 55.96 and 2:00.87.
Martellotti won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.33 (PSAC) and she finished second in the 200-yard IM (2:23.51).
Bingham won the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.79), finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:08.50) and finished third in the 200-yard IM (2:24.3).
Janel Llewellyn (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley) was second in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events with times of 1:15.41 and 2:44.24.
Last night (Friday, Jan. 15), Lock Haven hosted Division I Saint Francis in dual action. Both Martellotti and Parowski picked up individual wins in the meet.
The Bald Eagles will hit the pool again next weekend (Friday and Saturday, January 22-23 at the Vulcan Dual Meet Challenge, hosted by California (Pa.) University.
