LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (2-1, 0-1 PSAC) turned it up in the second half, closed the first-half gap and looked poised for an upset, but No. 19 Indiana (Pa.) University (4-0, 1-0 PSAC) held strong and picked up 73-59 win in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opener for both teams.
Playing in front of the home crowd for the first time this season, four Bald Eagles scored in double figures including
Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) who scored a team-high 15.
Hinton shot 7 of 15 from the floor, hit one 3-pointer and threw down one monster dunk in the second half on an alley-oop.
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) knocked down 14 points,
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia/Philadelphia Electric Charter) scored 11 and
Brahieme Jackson (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) netted 10 to round out a balanced scoring output.
Craig Slade (Philadelphia/Constitution) chipped in with six points and three rebounds in a strong outing off the bench.
Both Jackson and Hunt finished with six rebounds, while
Cole Renninger (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) dished out three assists.
IUP was led by Jacobo Diaz's 21 points. He was one four Crimson Hawks who netted double figures.
The Bald Eagles will turn right around and host Seton Hill tomorrow (Sunday, November 20) at 3 p.m.
