LORETTO, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swimming team (1-3) was downed 217-42 on the road today at NCAA Division I Saint Francis (8-3) in dual-meet action.
 
Despite a scheduled 12 day layoff, the Bald Eagles quickly got back into the grove today and turned in some solid swims. Leading the way was Moriah Treadway (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg), who finished third in the 50-yard freestyle event (26.81).
 
Rachael Pursell (Bath, Pa./Northampton) was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:14.21) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:31.11).
 
Erin Kazmierczak (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:07.85 and the Bald Eagles also turned in some solid swims in the relay events.
 
Today marked the final competition of the calendar year for the Bald Eagles, who will now take their annual winter break. LHU returns to the pool on Saturday, January 14 at Kutztown University (1 p.m.)
