STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – After a lengthy layoff for the holidays and the mid-year academic break, the Lock Haven University swimming team returned to the pool today (Saturday, Jan. 7) at Franciscan University of Steubenville vs. the host Baron's as well as Bethany and Pitt-Bradford.
The Bald Eagles dominated the day, recording big wins in all three duals.
Lock Haven defeated host Franciscan, 151-129 and added wins over Pitt-Bradford (W, 163-75) and Bethany (W, 157-59).
Leading the way for Lock Haven today was
Raechel Rodriguez (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and
Rachael Pursell (Bath, Pa./Northampton).

Joel Blesh was extremely pleased with the overall effort today, especially with his relay teams and he called the effort of Pursell in the 500-yard freestyle "gutsy."
Rodriguez had the winning touch today and her victory in the 100-yard breaststroke led a 1-2-3 Haven finish. She recorded a time of 1:15.18.
Pursell was second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.82. She capped a strong all-around day in the 500-yard freestyle with a solid time of 5:47.67.
Moriah Treadway's (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) victory in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.76) led a 1-2-3 LHU finish and
Carly Ray (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./James M Coughlin) added a win in the 50-yard freestyle (27.34).
Next Saturday, January 14 the Bald Eagles will head to Kutztown University for their final dual-meet of the 2016-17 season.
