Field Hockey to host Richmond, Lehigh

Week 8 Notes: The LHU field hockey team returns home to host Richmond and Lehigh this weekend.

Haven hits:
  • LHU is 8-5 overall and 3-3 in A-10 action (currently sixth in A-10 standings).
  • LHU played just once last week and picked up a 4-0 victory at Saint Louis in A-10 action. Michele Enck scored twice in the first half and Tamia Roach scored twice in the second.
  • On the season, LHU is outscoring opponents 27-18.
  • Eight different players have scored for The Haven this season.
  • The Bald Eagles have won two of their last three games and have won two straight A-10 contests.
 
Setting the stage:
The LHU field hockey team returns home this weekend to host Richmond in an important Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) game Friday, Oct. 13 (3 p.m.). Lock Haven will host Lehigh on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. in non-conference action.
 
Richmond is 4-9 overall and sits at 3-1 in A-10 play. Seven of the Spiders nine losses have come vs. top-25 teams. Last season, LHU beat Richmond 2-1 in a shootout and Lock Haven is 4-5 all-time vs. Richmond.
 
Lehigh is 3-9 on the season. The two last met in 2015, a 4-1 Lock Haven victory. The Bald Eagles are 8-1 all-time vs. the Mountain Hawks.
 
Stuppy among A-10 leaders:
Redshirt-senior goalkeeper Paige Stuppy ranks No. 3 in the A-10 in both goals-against-average and save percentage. Her 1.32 GAA is No. 12 in NCAA DI field hockey and her .766 save percentage ranks 18th.
 
Roach & Smith provide 1-2 offensive punch:
Tamia Roach and Alyscia Smith lead Lock Haven with 19 and 17 points, respectively. Roach has eight goals and three assists, while Smith has seven goals and three assists.
 
Freshman dishing out assists:
Freshman Tia Judy has a team-high nine assists. Her nine assists rank No. 2 in the A-10 and are tied for eighth in DI.
 
Up next:
Following Saturday's game with Lehigh, the Bald Eagles will host Bucknell on Sunday, Oct. 22.
