LHU earns draw with Cal (Pa.)

The LHU men’s soccer team wrapped up its season with a draw against California (Pa.).

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (6-8-4, 3-6-2 PSAC) tied Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe California University of Pennsylvania (2-13-1, 2-8-1 PSAC) 1-1 on Senior Day at Stern Athletic Complex.

Prior to the game, head coach Patrick Long and the LHU staff recognized the team's three seniors Troy Teresak (Pompton Plains, N.J./DePaul Catholic), Zach Hommey (Woodsboro, Md./Walkersville) and Tyler Shumaker (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prepatory) and all they have done for the program.

After a scoreless first half, The Vulcans were able to strike first with a goal in the first minute of the second half.  The Bald Eagles answered less than 10 minutes later.

Christian Wieand (Elizabethtown, Pa./Muhlenburg) put a great move on a California defender to create enough space to cross the ball into the box where Reggie Holt (Pittsburgh/Penn Hills) was able to head it into the back of the net.

Throughout the rest of regulation and overtime, The Bald Eagles and The Vulcans battled as the teams exchanged shots and the goalies exchanged saves.

In the end, LHU ended up with 19 shots while Cal ended up with 15.

Beckham Sibiski (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown H.S.) played a solid game for LHU, totaling six shots, including three on goal and consistently putting pressure on The Vulcan defense.

Hommey and Teresak played great games in their final action for the Bald eagles.

Hommey finished the game with four shots and helped the Haven rally from an early second half deficit to force overtime.

Teresak was great in goal, totaling 8 saves and directing a Haven defense that allowed only four shots by the Vulcans throughout the final 65 minutes of game action.

The Bald Eagles officially end their season at 6-8-4.
