MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Lock Haven University baseball team (2-2) and Chowan University (6-8) split again to wrap up their four-game series. LHU won game one, 10-9, but dropped game two, 14-8
 
In game one, senior 
Zach Manuppelli (Pittsburgh/USC Upstate) threw five innings, giving up five runs, three earned, to pick a 10-9 win  for the Bald Eagles. Manuppelli struck out four batters while forcing seven groundouts and three fly-outs.
 
Brett Morrison tossed the last two innings for LHU surrendering four runs, two earned, striking out two batters and giving up three hits.
 
The Bald Eagles offense powered by 
Nick Stotler (Plum, Pa./Coker College) and 
Evan McFarland (Cottonwood, Ariz./Gateway Community College) stayed hot. LHU scored 10 runs on 11 hits including five extra-base-hits in game one.
 
Stotler was three for four at the plate and scored three runs while McFarland was two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs scored.
 
Matt Lahn (Georgetown, ONT./Erie Community College), 
Kolby Dehaas (Coeur D'Alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Community College) and McFarland all went deep in game one for The Haven.
 
LHU dropped game two of the doubleheader 14-8.
 
Nick Hornbaker (Lancaster, Pa./East Stroudsburg) got the ball for the Bald Eagles in game two. Hornbaker went three innings giving up four earned runs on six hits.
 
Two freshmen 
Avery Eddy (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) and 
Colin Eckman (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) got to see their first action on the mound. Eddy went one inning in relief surrendering one run on two hits. Eckman went 1.2 innings giving up no runs on one hit.
 
Once again LHU's offense was on display scoring eight runs on 11 more hits in the second game of the twin bill. Stotler was solid again going one for two with another homerun. 
Max Joseph (Marlton, N.J/Harford Community College) got his first start behind the dish for Lock Haven and went one for four with a two-run shot to right centerfield.
 
LHU is back in action next weekend when they travel to Beckley, West Virginia to play Fairmont State in three games, one nine inning game Saturday (March 4) at 3 p.m. and a doubleheader Sunday (March 5) at 12 and 2 p.m.
