Swimming dives into dual action, tops Millersville

The LHU swimming team won eight of 14 events and powered its way to a solid 141-93 victory over Millersville.

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University swimming team jumped into 2019-20 dual action in a big way today as the Bald Eagles won eight of 14 events and secured a dominating 141-93 victory over host Millersville.
 
It snapped a five-meet losing streak to the Marauders and marked LHU's first win over Millersville since November 2012.

The win was also special for newly appointed head coach Brian Hein, who picked up a huge victory in his Bald Eagle coaching debut today.
 
Mikaela Clemson (Albury, Australia/Albury) won two individual events for the Haven winning both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. Clemson posted a 26.22 second time in the 50-yard and a 59.11 in the 100-yard free. Clemson was also part of the 200-yard freestlye relay team which won with a time of 1:51.66. Abagail Monaghan (Langhorn, Pa./Notre Dame HS), Lauren Mummert (York, Pa./Northeastern), and Elizabeth Lyden (Montrose, Pa./Montrose Area) rounded out the winning relay team.
 
Kristin Allen (Willow Street, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) also won two more individual events for the Bald Eagles capturing first place in the 200-yard and 100-yard butterfly. Allen posted a 2:21.57 in her winning 200-yard race and a 1:06.75 time in the 100-yard.
 
Mummert also captured first place in multiple events posting a time of 11:44.32 in the 1000-yard freestyle, and winning the 500-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 5:56.72.
 
Lily Arledge (Richwood, Ohio/Rivervalley) rounded out the Haven first place finishers bringing home the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:45.86.
 
Next Saturday (October 26), LHU will host Kutztown at 1 p.m. in dual action.
