GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (3-3) fell to the Concord Mountain Lions (4-5) 3-2 to close out the Bald Eagles weekend at the PSAC-MEC Crossover.
It was a dual of the pitchers as the Bald Eagles and the Mountain Lions stayed deadlocked at zero for five innings before either team would cross home plate. Lock Haven would be the first on the board, recording two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 2-0 lead.
Joe Zgleszewski (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) would be the one to break the stalemate, smacking a double to right field to bring home
Justin Lichtenwalner (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield), who had singled in the previous at bat. The Bald Eagles made it 2-0 when
Cameron Kutchey (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) singled to right field, bringing home Zgleszewski who has advanced to third on a groundout from
Blaise Zeiders (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove).
Concord answered in the top of the seventh, cutting the lead in half as they added a run to make it 2-1. After a scoreless bottom of the seventh for LHU, the Mountain Lions tacked on two more runs in the top of the eighth to make it 3-2. Concord shut things down in the final two at bats for the Bald Eagles, securing the come-from-behind win.
As a team, Lock Haven recorded a season-high 12 hits as eight different Bald Eagles contributed to the LHU effort. Kutchey, Lichtenwalner, and
Gavin Troutman (Oley Valley, Pa./Catholic Oley Valley) all went 2-4, with Kutchey adding one RBI and Lichtenwalner adding a walk and a run.
Reagan Lawlor (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) finished 2-5 on the day, while Zgleszewki went 1-4 with an RBI and a run.

Isaac Porter (Beech Creek, Pa./St. Bonaventure), and

Colby Hiddemen (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley) earned the loss despite a stellar outing, giving up four hits and three runs while striking out five and walking two across 7.1 innings of work, six of which were scoreless.
David Keller (Oreland, Pa./Christopher Dock Mennonite) closed out the game for the Bald Eagles on the mound, giving up just two hits with no runs and no walks and striking out one across 1.2 innings.
