ALTOONA, Pa. - The Lock Haven swimming team (0-1) fell to PSU Altoona (1-0) on Saturday afternoon.
Lock Haven took control and pulled out the win in the 200-yard medley relay to take an early lead in the meet after the combined team of
Madison Griffin (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone)
, KaceyMarie Berardinelli (Boothwyn, Pa./Archbishop John Carrol),
Emma Pequignot (Dover, Pa./Dover (Messiah))
, and Makenzie Eades (Derry, Pa./Derry) posted a time of 2:00.64
Berardinelli also took home her first individual win of the season in the 50-yard breaststroke.
Sydney Houck (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) grabbed a second-place finish with a time of 1:07.73 in the 100-yard IM.
Lauren Mummert (York, Pa./Northeastern) came in second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time 2:12.73.
Head coach
Jerry Hammaker had this to say about the meet: "Today's meet was a solid start for our season. We are concentrating on technique and effort. Both of those showed through today! We are looking to move forward in building our new tradition of excellence!"
Hammaker was hired in late August and this was his first event with the Bald Eagles.
