FIELD HOCKEY
The Bald Eagles are set to open Atlantic-10 Conference play by traveling to Conshohocken, Pa. to battle La Salle University at a neutral site (The Proving Grounds Sports Complex). On Sunday, Sept. 17, Lock Haven travels to Towson, Md. to battle non-conference foe Georgetown University at 3:30 p.m. at Towson’s TU Field Hockey Complex.
The Haven enters Friday with a 2-3 overall record after dropping a heartbreaker to Ball State in a double-overtime shootout (2-1) at Charlotte Smith Field on Sunday (Sept. 10).
On offense, Brooke Hofsaas is leading the squad with three goals and 11 shots. Hofsaas found the back of the cage in The Haven’s exciting contest on Sunday, driving home a penalty stroke.
Alexis Kern is the lone Bald Eagle with multiple assists, entering the weekend with two assists and two goals for six points.
In cage, Kelsey Felix has started all five games, collecting two victories, 25 saves, and a 1.18 goals-against average in 305 minutes.
The Bald Eagles have enjoyed great success against La Salle in recent history. Dating back to 1981, Lock Haven is 9-1 over the last 10 meetings and is scoring over two goals per contest.
The Haven is 8-2 against Georgetown in the past 10 meetings, scoring 2.9 goals per contest. Lock Haven won the meeting in 2022, 3-2, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
