Volleyball drops PSAC East match vs. West Chester

The Bald Eagles hosted West Chester for the program’s annual Community Night Match inside Thomas Fieldhouse on Friday night.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team fell to West Chester 3-0 (20-25, 24-26, 17-25) at home in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at Hubert Jack Stadium on Friday night (Oct. 4).
 
After starting the season with eight consecutive road matches, the Bald Eagles hosted West Chester for their second of three straight home matches inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
 
West Chester battled from behind in the first set after Lock Haven built an early 14-7 advantage and rallied for a 25-20 victory. The Golden Rams followed by taking the second set during extra play, 26-24, before riding the momentum to take the final set, 25-17, to earn the sweep.  
 
The Haven forced a match-high 24 errors, but the Golden Rams notched a match-high six aces and nine blocks to make up the difference.
 
Gracelynn Wolzen led the attack for Lock Haven with a team-high eight kills, while Evie Jane Rembold finished with six and Avery Beall and Kelly Gaston added four each.
 
Gaston also finished with a team-high 22 assists and six digs.
 
Acevedo led the Bald Eagles on defense with a team-high 20 digs, while Beall and Alyssa Daley added three blocks each. Rembold finished with two blocks.
 
Lock Haven moves to 2-0 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC East, while West Chester improves to 8-6 on the season and 1-1 in the conference.
 
NEXT UP
The Bald Eagles remain home and will host Millersville tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, Oct. 5) At 1 p.m. in Thomas Fieldhouse.
