LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's basketball team made a run late, but a 14-point first quarter deficit proved to be the difference as the Bald Eagles fell at home to East Stroudsburg, 64-54, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division battle on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 11).Â

Lock Haven moves to 9-5 overall and 4-3 in the PSAC. ESU improves to 6-8 on the season and 3-5 in conference play.

Jenadia Jordan led the Bald Eagles in scoring with 17 points.Â

Alana Robinson and
Rhlyn Rouse each finished with eight rebounds, while
Kiera Baughman finished with three of the Bald Eagles eight steals.Â

ESU jumped out to an early 16-2 lead through the opening eight minutes.Â
Â
The Warriors held Lock Haven to 16 percent shooting through the opening 10 minutes, while knocking down half their shots to build the early advantage.

Lock Haven's offense improved in the second period, but ESU again came out on top, 15-11, to lead 31-16 heading into the break.Â

Lock Haven completely flipped the script coming out of the break and dominated the third quarter to fly back into the game.Â

The Bald Eagles took the period 21-12 to trim their deficit to 43-37 heading into the fourth. Lock Haven turned up the pressure on both ends of the court and held the Warriors to just 33 percent shooting, while getting to the free throw line 12 times and converting nine tries.Â

ESU regained a double-digit lead through the opening four minutes of the fourth quarter, but Jordan scored four straight points to cut Lock Haven's deficit to 50-44 with 5:54 to go.Â

Lock Haven remained within five over the ensuing two minutes, but ESU went 6-of-6 at the charity stripe down the stretch to close out the 10-point victory.Â

Emily Chmiel led the way for the Warriors with a game-high 37 points and 15 rebounds.
