Women’s Swimming squares off with Kutztown on the road

The Bald Eagles traveled to Kutztown on Saturday afternoon for a PSAC dual meet

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven swimming team traveled to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Kutztown for its final meet of the regular season on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 25).
 
The Bald Eagles finished with five individual victories and five second-place finishes on the afternoon.
 
Holly Cleworth won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:18.54, nearly two seconds ahead of the competition.
 
Madison Bortner added a win in the 500-yard freestyle with a first-place time of 5:38.92.
 
Bortner and Nora Craig placed first and second in the 200-yard backstroke, crossing the finish line in 2:28.11 and 2:37.64, respectively.
 
Sydney Houck brought home gold in the 100- (1:11.74) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:38.62).The senior also brought home silver in the 50-yard free (26.95).
 
Emma Pequignot took second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.24) and Craig placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.22).
 
The quartet of Houck, Cleworth, Alaina Cane and Marisa Gachette swam to second place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:57.77.
 
Cleworth, Bortner, Pequignot and Craig placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a swim of 1:52.35.
 
Kutztown won the meet 142-102.
 
NEXT UP
Saturday's meet concluded the women's swimming regular season. The Bald Eagles will begin training for the 2024-25 PSAC Championship meet which is set for Monday-Thursday, Feb. 17-20 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
