Cross Country set for PSAC Championships hosted by Edinboro on Saturday

The 2025 cross country postseason slate begins with the PSAC Championships at Edinboro on Saturday

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The start of the postseason for the Lock Haven men's and women's cross country teams is set to begin on Saturday, Oct. 25 in Edinboro, Pennsylvania with the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Cross Country Championships. The women's team will run the 6K Championship at 10 a.m. and the men's group will compete in the 8K Championship shortly after, at 11 a.m.

The previous championship races conducted in October of 2024 saw the Shippensburg men's team and Slippery Rock women's team repeat as conference champions.
 
In the 2025 PSAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll, the predicted order of finish in the top five by the conference's coaches was: No. 1 Shippensburg followed by East Stroudsburg, Slippery Rock, Kutztown, and Lock Haven.

In the 2025 PSAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll, coaches predicted a top five of Slippery Rock, East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg, Kutztown, and Bloomsburg, in that order of finish.

Competitors from the PSAC Cross Country Championships will look to advance to the 2025 NCAA Atlantic Region Championships, hosted by Lock Haven at the West Branch Cross Country Course on Saturday, Nov. 8.

In 2024, the Lock Haven men finished eighth in the overall team standings and were led by top-returner Jakob Rager, who raced to All-Conference honors with a 10th-place finish of 25:54.0.
 
The Bald Eagle women placed ninth as a group at the 2024 meet and were led by top-returner Kaydence Strange's All-Conference Second Team (Top-30) honor by way of a 23rd-place finish (23:27.3).

The men were ranked seventh in the Atlantic Region in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Rankings, released on Oct. 14 (Week 5). The Bald Eagles are ranked just behind PSAC foes Shippensburg, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown and West Chester.
 
On the women's side, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, Edinboro, Slippery Rock, Bloomsburg, Shippensburg and Rachel are featured in the Atlantic Region Top-10.
 
Next Up
The Haven return home on Saturday, Nov. 1 to host the Go Fast River Run at the West Branch Cross Country Course at 1 p.m.
