Swimming has strong showing at Cal. (Pa.); Oswalt continues to shine

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's swimming team traveled to California, Pa. to take on the Vulcans, falling 143-119, on Saturday (Nov. 1). The Bald Eagles won six of the 14 events on the day.

Jadyn Oswalt continued to be a bright spot for the Bald Eagles by winning three events. Oswalt opened the individual events by winning the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:43.62. Minutes later, she took home the 200-yard freestyle with a 2:05.12. Oswalt even won the 500-yard freestyle by finishing in 5:40.89.

Kate MacAlister also won multiple events for The Haven. Macalister won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.18 before winning the 100-yard butterfly with a 1:02.03.

Veronica Karboski was another first-place finisher for Lock Haven. Karboski won the 100-yard free by finishing the event in 58.46.

Nora Craig took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:08.48 and second in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:27.19.

Madison Bortner finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:46.56.

Lock Haven moves to 2-2 on the early season and 1-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contests.

Next Up

Lock Haven will head to Loretto, Pa., on Friday (Nov.7) to take on Saint Francis at 6:00 p.m.
