Student-Athletes Make the Grade; Teams Hit Impressive GPA Marks (2024-25)

19 of Lock Haven’s 21 athletic programs recorded a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year.

Among many athletic accomplishments, the Bald Eagles continued to put "student" first in student-athlete during the 2024-25 academic year.
 
In all, 19 of Lock Haven's 21 athletic programs achieved a team grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher during the 2024-25 academic and athletic seasons.
 
On July 1, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its full list of 2024-25 individual scholar-athletes and a school record 243 Bald Eagles were named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar Athletes. It marks back-to-back years the Bald Eagles have set the school record.
 
The Haven women's cross country team recorded the highest team GPA at 3.55 and softball followed closely at 3.46. On the men's side, the men's track and field team held the highest team GPA (3.32) and men's soccer came in second (3.22).
 
The 17 Lock Haven teams that hit the high mark (3.0 Team GPA or higher) during the 2024-25 season included: volleyball (3.42), men's soccer (3.22), women's soccer (3.42), men's cross country (3.31), women's cross country (3.55), tennis (3.33), women's basketball (3.30), swimming (3.44), men's indoor and outdoor track & field (3.32), women's indoor and outdoor track & field (3.36), baseball (3.22), softball (3.55), lacrosse (3.4), field hockey (3.33), women's golf (3.15), women's wrestling (3.01) and men's wrestling (3.18).
 
Other recent and major academic highlights include Ryan Miller and Matthew Muthler's unprecedented achievement as honorees on the 2025 PSAC Spring Top-10 List as teammates. Impressively, Gwen Lloyd (women's cross country), Sydney Houck (swimming), and Ryan Miller (men's track & field) were all named PSAC Champion Scholar's after their respective 2024-25 seasons.
 
A combined eight members of the men's and women's wrestling teams were named NCAA Scholar All-Americans, while 10 softball players were named NFCA Scholar All-Americans.
 
Overall, a total of 48 Lock Haven student-athletes were named to various Academic All-District Teams, surpassing last year's total of 39.
