MAT-TOWN, U.S.A. – The Lock Haven men's wrestling team recently held the 2025 Distinguished Alumni, Friends and Supporters Hall of Fame event, where the Bald Eagles honored and celebrated the program's history and success on the mats with the induction ceremony of a remarkable class of seven individuals.
The Class of 2025 represents decades of athletic excellence, coaching leadership, and unwavering dedication to the sport of wrestling. This year's inductees include:
- JaMarr Billman '02 – Three-time NCAA Division I All-American, two-time EWL Champion, and 1998 Big Ten Freshman of the Year (Penn State University).
- Trap McCormack '02 – Four-time NCAA Division I qualifier, two-time PSAC Champion, one-time EWL Champion, and Hall-of-Fame coach responsible for 10 individual state champions, 19 league titles, 13 District titles, seven regional titles and one PIAA State Team Championship.
- Bill Freeman '90 – Two-time NCAA Division I qualifier, 1988 national quarterfinalist, and longtime high school coach responsible for multiple state qualifiers and PIAA place winners.
- Mike Nauman '80 – Three-time PSAC place winner, generous benefactor, and creator of the Mike Nauman '80 Men's Wrestling Scholarship.
- Brad Silimperi '95 – Two-time NCAA Division I qualifier and legendary high school coach responsible for nine PIAA state champions, 47 state medalists, 36 regional champions and 66 district champions.
- Pete Ventresca '95 – Two-time NCAA Division I qualifier, EWL Champion, and award-winning coach responsible for 48 sectional champions, 42 district champions, 12 regional champions, 22 state medalists, and one state champion.
- Greg Wykoff '86 – PSAC Champion, two-time EWL place winner, record holder for most single-season major decisions in school history (14), and member of the District 6 Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Since 1938, Lock Haven Wrestling has built a legacy that stretches far beyond central Pennsylvania. Known as
Mat-Town USA, the program has produced nine NCAA champion, nine Olympic and World Team members, 45 NCAA All-Americans, and countless coaches who have shaped the sport across the nation. Today, through initiatives like
The Rise Campaign, which has raised millions to endow scholarships and strengthen resources, that legacy is being preserved and propelled forward.
