LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Jenadia Jordan and
Madeline Evans recorded double-doubles to headline five Lock Haven women's basketball players in double figures as the Bald Eagles soared past Mansfield, 91-41, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East contest inside Thomas Fieldhouse on Tuesday night (Jan. 13).
With the victory, the Bald Eagles (9-5, 5-3 PSAC) have won seven of their last eight games and improve to a perfect 3-0 in the PSAC East. The Haven is in a tie for first place in the Eastern Division.
Lock Haven shot 59 percent from the field and 53 percent from 3-point range while limiting Mansfield (2-13, 0-8 PSAC East) to just 28 percent shooting. The Haven recorded season-highs in points, made field goals (33), assists (25) and blocked shots (seven).
Jordan stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, 11 assists, five steals and five rebounds, and Evans dominated the interior with 11 points and a game-best 16 boards.
Alana Robinson paced a balanced Haven attack with a game-high 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting while adding four rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.
Nufi Nemale-Djiegoue poured in 15 points and knocked down four of Lock Haven's eight 3-pointers, and
Rhlyn Rouse added 13 points, eight rebounds and a team-high six assists as all five starters scored in double figures.
The Bald Eagles led wire-to-wire, opening up a 19-7 lead after the first quarter and stretching the advantage to 46-20 at halftime behind a 27-point second period.
Lock Haven continued to roll out of the locker room, outscoring Mansfield 22-9 in the third quarter to push the margin to 68-29 heading to the fourth. The Bald Eagles' bench closed the door in the final period as Lock Haven reached the 90-point mark and its largest lead at 52 in the closing minute.
Lock Haven controlled nearly every statistical category, owning a 40-22 rebounding advantage and a 40-22 edge in points in the paint. The Bald Eagles also forced 19 turnovers and turned them into 29 points, while racking up 25 assists on 33 made field goals in a crisp offensive performance.
