CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Lock Haven baseball team fell twice to California (Pa.), 7-1 and 9-4, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West doubleheader on Saturday.

The Bald Eagles move to 4-19 overall and 1-6 in the West, while the Vulcans improve to 16-7 on the year and 7-1 in league play.

Game 1: California (Pa.) 7, Lock Haven 1
Cal jumped on Lock Haven early and never looked back, cruising to a 7-1 victory in game one.

Three different Bald Eagles recorded a hit, while
Gardner Fravel drove in
Jackson Bower to account for Lock Haven's run.

Tyler Serb went the distance on the bump for LH, with four of his seven runs allowed being earned.

Game 2: California (Pa.) 9, Lock Haven 4
The Bald Eagles got the bats going in the nightcap, belting out nine hits and plating four runs, but the Vulcans stayed red-hot to close out the weekend and secured the sweep with a 9-4 victory.

Braden Cummings (2 2Bs),
Zachary McEllroy and
Cayden Robertson all finished with two hits, while Robertson (2),
Cayde McCloskey (2B) and
Kellen Jackson (2B) picked up RBIs.

Michael Mariano Jr. got his first start on the mound this season and went four innings and struck out one, while being charged with six runs. Holdan Ward tossed a scoreless inning in relief.
