LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven women's basketball team's run in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship Tournament came to an end on Wednesday night with a quarterfinal loss to Edinboro in a 68-57 hard-fought battle inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
Lock Haven (No. 1 East) is now 22-6 (18-3 PSAC, 16-0 East) on the season and awaits its fate for a possible bid to the regional round for the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA DII selection show is scheduled for Sunday, March 8 at 10:30 p.m.
Edinboro (No. 4 West) moves to 19-12 on the year and advances to the PSAC Tournament semifinal on Friday.
Despite trailing from the tip, Lock Haven refused to let Edinboro pull away and cut its deficit to two possessions multiple times in the second half.
Down 58-49 with just over four minutes to go,
Jenadia Jordan answered with back-to-back buckets to cut the margin to four following her three-pointer at the 3:32 mark.
However, Edinboro pushed its lead back to six on the ensuing possession, before icing out the game by going 6-of-6 at the line in the closing minutes.
Edinboro shot 53 percent from the field and held Lock Haven to 37 percent on the other end.
Jordan did all she could to will The Haven to victory and finished with a game-high 23 points with six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal.
Madeline Evans finished with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double and
Alana Robinson rounded out the Bald Eagles in double figures with 15 points and six rebounds.
