SALEM, W.Va. –  The Lock Haven baseball team wrapped up its four-game series at Salem on Sunday and prevailed 5-3 in game one, before falling 4-1 in the nightcap.
Game 1: Lock Haven 5 – Salem 3
The Bald Eagles' offense hammered 10 hits in game one, their most over the four-game series.
With the game tied at 1-1 after four innings of play, The Haven scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth inning to pull away.
Zachary McEllroy (triple) picked up two RBIs during the rally, while Kellen Jackson and Braden Cummings both drove in runs with singles.
McEllroy, Gardner Fravel, Jackson and Cummings each collected two hits in the first game.
Southpaw Kevin Grenninger nearly went the distance for The Haven, hurling 6.1 innings, three earned runs and six strikeouts, picking up his first win of the campaign.
Caleb Zimmerman came in and finished the job for Lock Haven, securing his first save of the season.
Game 2: Salem 4 – Lock Haven 1
The top-half of The Haven offense was still rowdy in game two, with Cummings recording three base knocks and Jackson having another two-hit ball game. Jackson drove in the lone run for the Bald Eagles.
Senior Andrew Kramer had a strong outing for The Haven, going 5.1 innings and striking out seven Salem hitters.
Lock Haven is now 2-9 on the season.
