LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Austen Veach scored the equalizer late in the second half to lead the Lock Haven men's soccer team to a 1-1 draw with Frostburg State on Thursday night in the Bald Eagles' home opener at Hubert Jack Stadium.
 
After a one-hour lightning delay, Frostburg State struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute.
 
The Bobcats' defense held firm for much of the second half, but Lock Haven broke through in the 75th minute. Owen Lichtenwalner launched a throw-in from approximately 45 yards out into the heart of the box, where Veach battled through a pair of Frostburg State defenders before beating the goalkeeper to level the match at 1-1.
 
Neither team could find the deciding goal down the stretch.
 
The Haven appeared to score the game-winner with eight minutes remaining in regulation, but the goal was disallowed following an offside call.
 
The physical match featured nine total cards, including seven issued to Frostburg State.
 
Four different Bald Eagles recorded a shot on goal. Noah Brady, Joshua Horn and Patricio Zapata each finished with two shots.

In goal, Ethan Beck made three saves and allowed one goal over 90 minutes of action. Beck stopped a penalty shot in the first half to keep The Haven in striking distance.
