Nick Voorhees joined Lock Haven football in the spring of 2022, serving as the Wide Receivers Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, and Social Media Coordinator. The 2025 season will be his fourth with the Bald Eagles and has gained the title of Pass Game Coordinator.
Â
The 2024 season was a landmark season for the Lock Haven passing offense as the receiving core topped the PSAC with 290.7 yards per game on 237 receptions, 3,198 total yards, and 27 touchdowns. With these marks, Lock Haven finished as the 10th ranked passing offense in the nation. A standout contributor to Voorhees’ receiver group success was T’iar Young, who hauled in 69 catches with 1,146 yards, and 11 touchdowns. Young finished ranked 6th in the nation in yards per game at 104.2 and was named 1st Team All-PSAC, 1st Team D2CCA All-Region, was named to D2Football.com’s Elite 100, and was a Don Hansen All-American Honorable Mention.
Â
A year previous in 2023, the Lock Haven offense was highlighted by the run game lead by soon-to-be NFL running back Chris Collier. However, Voorhees’ receiver unit in the passing game was still incredibly productive with 2,100 yards on 166 catches and 19 touchdowns. T’iar Young was the leading receiver for the Bald Eagles in this season as well with 31 catches, 663 yards, and 6 touchdowns. As the Special Teams Coordinator, Voorhees worked with the do-it-all kicker, Brett Zachman, who set the all-time PSAC record for longest FG by hitting a 57yd bomb against West Chester.
Â
The 2022 season was Voorhees’ first season at Lock Haven and his impact was immediate as the passing offense produced it’s first 600yd receiver in six years (2016). Marquon Williams set this mark with 600yds exactly on 31 catches, and 7 touchdowns.
Â
Prior to Lock Haven, Voorhees was at Anna Maria College with the same coaching and coordinator titles. From 2019 to 2022, Voorhees was part of a staff that took a perennial losing program to new heights by winning a conference championship and appearing in the DIII national play-offs for the first time in program history. In this time, Voorhees had two receivers awarded as conference Rookies of the Year in 2019 and 2021 respectively. In 2021, the Anna Maria College passing offense finished ranked 12th in the nation.
Â
Voorhees began his college coaching career at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota where he coached the receivers in 2017 and the running backs in 2018. Prior to the college ranks, Voorhees coached high school football in the Tampa and Orlando areas for six total seasons, making stops at Bloomingdale High School (DB’s), Lake Minneola High School (WR’s) and Freedom (Orlando) High School (OC/WR’s).
Â
Voorhees earned his bachelor’s degree in sports and fitness with a specialization in coaching from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2013. He lives in Lock Haven with his wife Amanda and son Nicholas.
