The 2020 season will mark coach Yisrael’s first at LHU.

Yisrael, a former standout player at Division I Penn State and a former Pittsburgh Steeler, rounds out the additions to the LHU coaching staff.
 
A longtime Pennsylvania high school coach, Yisrael spent the 2019 season as the co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs/wide receivers coach at Shikellamy High School. Prior to his stint at Shikellamy, he coached at Line Mountain, Shamokin and Halifax High Schools. As the head coach at Shamokin in 2013, he led a major turnaround to a 5-5 record from 0-10. From 2009-12, he was coaching at Halifax, which included two years as the head coach.
 
Yisrael played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004. During that season, the Steelers ranked No.1 in the NFL in defense. Professionally, he also played wide receiver and defensive back in two different arena leagues. At Penn State, playing primarily as a safety, he was a two-year captain, starter and All-Big Ten selection. During his collegiate career, Yisrael played in the Alamo Bowl, Outback Bowl, he was selected to play in the Senior All-Star Game and Penn State was ranked as high as No. 1 in the country.
