Bailey Farthing (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) of the Lock Haven University volleyball team has been named this week's GoLhu.com Female Athlete of the Week.
Earlier this week, Farthing was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week.
The junior middle hitter led LHU to a 3-1 record last week.
Farthing started out the week with 18 kills, six blocks, five digs and posted a .571 hitting percentage as the Lady Eagles came back from two sets down to defeat Shepherd 3-2.
Farthing continued her dominant play on Friday, when she recorded seven kills and six blocks in a 3-0 win over Edinboro. Farthing hit .417 in the match. In a loss to Gannon Friday night, Farthing recorded 12 kills and hit .391.
In a 3-1 win over Mercyhurst on Saturday, Farthing had 11 kills, five digs, and had a hitting percentage of .360.
For the week, Farthing tallied 48 kills, 20 blocks, 14 digs and hit for an outstanding .443 percentage.
The Lady Eagles are scheduled to play three matches this weekend (Friday, Sept. 28 – Saturday, Sept 29). On Friday, LHU will travel to Cheyney to take on the Lady Wolves in a PSAC East matchup. Saturday, The Haven will be at West Chester to take on the Golden Rams in a conference matchup (2 p.m.) and Glenville State in a non-conference bout (4 p.m.).
