Kratzer’s three TD’s lead late Lock Haven rally, but Bald Eagles fall to #22 SRU 48-27

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.  –
Jarrett Kratzer (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) threw for three second half touchdowns and the Bald Eagles scored 20 fourth-quarter points, but the late Haven rally fell short as the Lock Haven University football team (0-7, 0-5 PSAC West) fell to visiting No. 22 Slippery Rock University (7-1, 5-0 PSAC West) 48-27 today on Homecoming.

Kratzer came off the bench to throw for three touchdowns and 157 yards. He was 15-for-20 on the day.

Jay Hartman (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) hauled in a pair of TD passes from Kratzer. Hartman finished with 10 catches for 97 yards.

Josh Livelsberger (Hanover, Pa./Hanover) caught The Haven's third touchdown pass.

Slippery Rock led 48-14 before Ian Smith (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) blocked a punt and returned it 25 yards to the end zone for the Bald Eagles. Smith's TD made it 48-21 in favor of The Rock.

The Bald Eagles never quit and with 32 seconds left in the game, Kratzer hit Livelsberger to make it 48-27. The touchdown capped off a nine-play, 92-yard drive.

Marc Olivo (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) made a game-high eight tackles for The Haven.

Lock Haven hits the road next Saturday, November 29 for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Edinboro.
