LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Despite a tremendous defensive effort, the No. 3 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (14-2) was edged by visiting and third-ranked Limestone College (16-0) 7-6 in a thrilling grudge-match between a pair Division II power house programs.

With the win Limestone caps off a perfect 16-0 season.

Lock Haven led 6-4 at halftime, but the Saints shutout the Lady Eagles 3-0 in the second half of play.

Jamie Uzialko (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) led LHU with a pair of goals.

Lock Haven's others four goals came from four different players.

The Lady Eagles got a tremendous effort from everyone in their defensive unit including goalie Heather Sacko (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), who made six stops.

LHU caused 10 turnovers. It was no surprise that Katie Zichelli (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) led the way with three, but The Haven also got two caused turnovers from Clare Gaeng (Frederick, Md./ Thomas Governor Johnson) and Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North).

Pandolf was everywhere for LHU today. The freshman had three ground balls and three draw controls to go along with her two caused turnovers.

Gaeng was solid as well and added three ground balls and a draw control to her pair of caused turnovers.

Lock Haven trialed 2-1 less than four minutes into the contest, but rattled off three straight goals to make it 4-2 with 21:32 to play in the opening half.

Limestone quickly tied the match at 4-4, but again Lock Haven went on a run and two Haven goals with under 11 minutes to go in the first half made it 6-4.

The different in the game was Raquel Prager's three second half goals, which marked the only scoring in the second 30 minutes of play.

Lock Haven had its chances in the second half, but LC goalie Rashelle McLellan was equally as impressive at Sacko and made 11 saves, including seven in the second half.

The Lady Eagles finished the regular season 14-2 overall and wrapped up the No. 2 seed for next week's PSAC Tournament by way of their 10-1 conference ledger.

LHU has earned a first round bye and will play next Friday, April 29 at West Chester. Opponent and game time TBA.
