The game:
The Bald Eagles hit the road for the first time in 2011 as they head to No. 16 Kutztown. The game marks the home-opener for Kutztown, who is 2-0 on the young season. Kickoff Saturday at KU's University Field (5,600 capacity) is set for 6 p.m. LHU enters the game 0-1 after opening the year with a 21-20 loss to Kutztown. This is the second straight game for LHU against a PSAC East team. The Bald Eagles are scheduled to play No. 8 Bloomsburg in the final week of the regular season.
Setting the stage:
The Golden Bears have started the season 2-0 and are coming off of a huge 35-28 win over nationally ranked Mercyhurst College last week. Kutztown has shown that they are an offensive powerhouse through the first two weeks. Kutztown currently leads the PSAC in total offense averaging, 594.5 yards per game. They also rank second in the PSAC in rushing yards per game with 306.0. Meanwhile, the buzz around the Lock Haven football team is very high after the gutsy performance they put up last week. The Bald Eagles enter week three with a record of 0-1 after a 20-21 heartbreaking loss to Millersville last week. The loss brought the Bald Eagles' losing streak to 33 games, but the one point deficit was the closest game during that time. The PSAC record for consecutive losses is 39 by Cheyney (1994-98) and the Division II record is 46 by Minnesota-Morris (1998-2003). Lock Haven's last win came in the 2007 season finale on the road at Clarion University (17-14 OT).
The series:
Even with last season's loss, the Bald Eagles control the series with Kutztown. The two teams have met 26 times throughout the years with Lock Haven leading 14-11-1. However, the Golden Bears have won four straight matchups with Lock Haven's last win coming in 2002. The first matchup was in 1930, a 13-12 win for the Bald Eagles.
Last time vs. Kutztown:

Ryan Good led the way for the Bald Eagles recording eight total tackles.
Strong coaching debut:
In his first game at the helm for the Bald Eagles head coach
John Allen proved that he has what it takes to lead Lock Haven football back to the top. Coach Allen started the climb with his first game last week vs. Millersville. The debut was full of excitement as students and fans packed Hubert Jack Stadium to give the Bald Eagles their full support and they weren't disappointed. Coach Allen led his team to a strong performance and will look to build on that performance this week.
