The Lock Haven University football team is set for its second straight home game as the Bald Eagles host Gannon on Saturday (Oct. 27) night at 7 p.m. Saturday's game will also mark the 2012 “Pink Out,” as the Bald Eagles look to support breast cancer education and awareness.

Setting the stage:
The Bald Eagles are set for their second straight home game on Saturday as LHU hosts Gannon for just the fifth meeting between the two schools.
Saturday's 7 p.m. clash marks the Bald Eagle's 2012 “Pink Out,” as the Bald Eagles will look to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Lock Haven is coming off one of its best all-around performances in years. LHU led with 1:26 to go in the game last week with Clarion, but Clarion scored with no time left in the game to secure the thrilling 30-28 win.
QB
Jarrett Kratzer led the way last week for Lock Haven. The fifth-year senior QB finished the game 14-for-27 for 267 yards and three touchdowns.
Gannon (1-7, 0-5 PSAC) is coming off a 41-0 loss against nationally-ranked California (Pa.) and the Golden Knights haven't won since week one.
The series:
Saturday marks just the fifth meeting all-time between Lock Haven and Gannon. Gannon has won all four meetings since the two schools starting playing in 2008 when Gannon joined the PSAC.
Gannon won 37-13 last year.

Last time vs. Gannon:
Last year, Gannon won 37-13 in Erie.
Lock Haven trailed by two at halftime, 9-7. Trailing late in the first quarter,
Ben Snyder picked off Gannon QB Daniel Tapscott and returned the ball 11 yards for the TD. It marked the first time since 2006, where LHU returned an interception for a TD.
Snyder finished with six tackles on the day.
Last year's game with Gannon marked the first game of the season where
Jarrett Kratzer started at QB.

• Saturday is Lock Haven's PINK OUT.
• It is the fifth meeting between Lock Haven and Gannon.
• The 7 p.m. kickoff marks The Haven's third night game of the year and first since Week two at East Stroudsburg.
• Last week marked Lock Haven's 2012 Homecoming.
• The two-point loss was the slimmest losing margin of the season for Lock Haven.
• Despite its best all-around effort of the year, the Lock Haven University football fell to Clarion, 30-28 as the Golden Eagles scored on the final play of the game.
• The loss also marks the 50th straight for LHU, which is the longest active losing skid in college football and the all-time DII record.
• Clarion was the last team LHU beat.
• The Haven beat Clarion 17-14 (OT) in the 2007 season-finale.
• LHU jumped on Clarion early, taking the opening kickoff 88 yards for a TD (
Bernard Smack). It marked the first time since 2003 that LHU returned a kickoff for a TD.

Jarrett Kratzer made his 21st career start and passed for 267 yards and three TDs. His 267 yards were his most since he passed for 280 vs. IUP in 2010. It was his second career three-TD game.

Jesse Hoover twice. Hoover scored on 22 and 66-yard passes and finished with 100 receiving yards. The 100 yards receiving marked the first 100-yard receiving game since
Jay Hartman in 2010 vs. IUP (150 yards).
• It was the first 200-yard plus passing game for Lock Haven since last year's season-opener vs. Millersville.
• The Clarion loss also marked the second straight game where a Bald Eagle recorded 13 tackles, which is the individual game-high this season.

Gannon at glance:
Following a Week one win, Gannon has lost seven straight games coming into Saturday's clash at Hubert Jack Stadium.
The Golden Knights average 19.4 points/game and are led by QB Liam Nadler. Nadler is 192-for-347 with 13 TDs on the year. He averages 278 yards/game.
Nadler's top target is Abraham Ocasin, who has eight TDs and averages 92 yards/game through the air.
Will Giles leads the way on defense. He has 77 tackles (40 solo), three sacks and four interceptions, all of which are team-highs.
Brader leads the way for The Haven:
Brandon Brader, a 2011 All-PSAC Second Team tailback continues to lead the way for Lock Haven. He has two rushing TDs this year and is also second on the team with 15 catches. He's average 47.5 yards per game. Brader is already ninth on Lock Haven's all-time individual career-rushing list. He has 1,564 yards which is 89 yards away from eighth.
D-FENCE:
Following several strong weeks of play, Lock Haven broke out last week vs. Clarion.
Linebacker
Ryan Good led the way with a game-high 13 tackles. He made 10 solo stops and had three tackles for a loss.
Derrick Watkins and
James Goins each finished with eight tackles.
Tyrek Morgan had a strong game and finished with four tackles (three solo), two of which went for a loss, one forced fumble and one interception. George Christas's strong play in the secondary kept LHU in the game. He made three tackles (two solo), had an interception and made two key pass breakups.
Tyrail Morgan and
Skyler Wool each had a sack.
Goins leads the team with 52 tackles on the year (29 solo) while Christas is second with 51.
PINK OUT:
Saturday marks Lock Haven's PINK OUT as the Bald Eagles do their part to support breast cancer education & awareness by wearing PINK. A number of special events are planned for Saturday.
The Lock Haven Cheerleading Club and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority play big part in the Bald Eagles annual PINK OUT.
Allen's second year as head coach:
2012 marks the second season for head coach
John Allen. The 1996 James Madison graduate was no stranger to LHU when he took over the program in March 2011, as he was previously on the Bald Eagle coaching staff as an assistant from 1996-2003. While at LHU, he assisted in all phases of the game including wide receivers and special teams' coordinator (1996-99), defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator (1999), offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach (2000-03). Allen served as the head coach of NFL Europes Berlin Thunder in 2007 and prior to coming to LHU he was the coordinator for player development at Penn State.
LHU honors Faculty:
LHU honored its faculty members during the game with Shippensburg by celebrating Faculty Appreciation Day at The Haven. All of Lock Haven's student-athletes wanted to take time to “THANK” the 260-plus LHU faculty members that have helped shape the lives of 25,000 living alumni.
LHU coaching staff promotes Coach to Cure MD:
LHU head coach
John Allen and his coaching staff helped promote “COACH TO CURE MD” this season. Coach Allen and the LHU staff joined coaches all over America in wearing a patch on their left arms to help defeat a terrible genetic disorder. It's called COACH TO CURE MD. The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) is working to raise awareness and research funding to cure Duchenne (doo-SHEN) Musular Dystrophy, the most prolific genetic killer diagnosed in children. Community Day a success:
LHU's week four home-opener against Edinboro marked Lock Haven's second-annual “Community Day.” Because of the generosity of the sponsors, admissions and parking was free for all. The 2012 Community Day sponsors were Bill Macintrye Chevrolet Buick, Nittany Travel, the LHU Bookstore, 92.1 WSQV / AM 1230 WBPZ and The Express.
Heading East:
The PSAC announced earlier this week at Lock Haven is moving to the Eastern Division for the 2013-14 academic year.
Lock Haven will join the PSAC East for football, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball. The Haven volleyball team began playing in the Eastern Division in 2008 and will remain in the East as the league moves forward following the addition of two schools in August.
In August, the PSAC announced that the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Seton Hill University accepted invitations to join the league at the start of the 2013-14 season.
Located approximately 50 miles apart in Southwestern, Pennsylvania, both Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill will play in the PSAC West.
Trio of All-PSAC selections:
Along with Brader, two other All-Conference selections from a year ago return including junior guard
Anthony Herko and senior defensive tackle
Skyler Wool.
Herko was the leader on the offensive line last year for LHU as he started all 10 games.
Wool, who was nominated for the Gene Upshaw Division II Linemen of the Year award last year returns after a breakout 2011 season. Wool got the starting nod in week two and never looked back last year; making 31 tackles (22 solo), 5.5 TFL, one sack and he added a fumble recovery.
Just two remain:
Following Saturday's primetime matchup with Gannon, just two games remain for Lock Haven.
Next week, the Bald Eagles travel to Slippery Rock for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, November 3.
LHU closes out the 2012 season at home vs. Cheyney on Saturday, November 10 (1 p.m.).
