Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 7 Lock Haven University Lacrosse team advanced to the tomorrow's PSAC Championship game with a 10-5 win over West Chester in today's semifinal matchup at Charlotte Smith Field.
With the win, Lock Haven, the tournament's top-seed advances to tomorrow's title game. It will be LHU's second straight PSAC title game.
No. 8 Mercyhurst (16-2) took down No. 11 IUP (13-5) in the second semifinal of the day 13-7, setting up a championship clash with host-Lock Haven.
Lock Haven (16-2) dominated the second half of the game today, as it outscored the Golden Rams (12-5), 5-1 in the final 30 minutes of play.
West Chester held the momentum for much of the first half and the Golden Rams led, 4-2 with just over seven minutes to play in the period.
The Lady Eagles clawed back, however.
Chelsea Borrino (Webster, Pa./Webster Thomas) made an outstanding move and beat the WCU goalie on a low angle to cut the WCU lead to, 4-3 with 6:16 to play in the period.
With 3:09 to play in the first,
Jill Murray (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) tied the game up at, 4-4 off of a feed from PSAC Player of the Year,
Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North).
The Murray goal proved to be the momentum builder that LHU needed.
Borrino gave The Haven its first lead of the game four minutes into the second half and just 37 seconds later,
Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) rattled the cage to put LHU up, 6-4.
Leading, 6-5 with 6:15 to play, Lock Haven scored four unanswered goals to pull away for the 10-5 win.
Borrino tallied two goals and two assists in the game.
Hamilton netted a pair of goals and dished out one assist.
Jenna Dingler (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) and
Rachel Ward (Indianapolis/Bishop Chatard) each scored two goals for LHU.
The Lock Haven defense was outstanding all game, particularly in the second half. The Lady Eagles allowed just six WCU shots in the second half.
Melinda Wojt (Telford, Pa./Souderton) scooped up six ground balls and caused three turnovers to lead the defensive effort.

Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) made five saves in the game, including four in the second half.
Kelsey Gumbert scored two goals and added an assist to lead West Chester offensively.
Jess Henderson made seven saves for the Golden Rams.
The day's second semifinal followed game ones' storyline with No. 8 Mercyhurst dominating the second half on the way to the 13-7 win over No. 11 IUP. The Lakers were led by Jordan Mackenzie, who scored a game-high five goals. Becca Himes added two goals and three assists in the win.
Mercyhurst led 4-2 at halftime, but cruised to the win with a nine-goal second half.
Lock Haven beat Mercyhurst during the regular season (April 9) 10-8 in overtime.
Tomorrow's (Saturday, May 3) PSAC Championship between Lock Haven and Mercyhurst is set for 1 p.m.
