LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (3-1-1, 2-0 PSAC) picked up its second PSAC win in as many days, downing visiting Seton Hill (3-2-1, 0-2 PSAC) 2-1 tonight in thrilling fashion.

With Lock Haven leading 2-1 late in the game, Haven goalkeeper
Jonathan Howitt (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning Painted Post East) saved a penalty shot with 4:09 left to help preserve the victory.

Howitt was the story for Lock Haven, as he was credited with an assist on the Bald Eagles opening goal, before finishing with a season-high 10 saves.

With the win, LHU improves to 2-0 in PSAC play and sits atop the early season conference standings with six points.

The Bald Eagles took control of the game from the opening whistle and dominated the opening 45 minutes of play, while creating several good scoring chances.

They were rewarded for their efforts in the 41
st minute when
Troy Amspacher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) scored his second of the season.

Amspacher ran onto a Howitt punt, beating the Seton Hill defense and burying it past the keeper.
Â
Seton Hill pressed early in the second and was rewarded with a goal in the 65
th minute, tying the match at, 1-1.

Not to be outdone in the front of a strong home-crowd,
Jacob Oldaker (Elliotsburg, Pa./West Perry) scored for the second straight night after running through the Seton Hill defense and firing a shot near post.

With 4:09 left in the match, Lock Haven was called for a hand ball inside the box, giving the Griffins a chance to tie the match on the penalty shot.

Joe Tchimou stepped up to the spot and hit a hard shot toward the corner, but Howitt left no doubt - making a sensational diving-save that led Lock Haven to the win.

Seton Hill received votes in this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Men's National Poll, but lost to Bloomsburg 3-0 last night (Friday).

LHU opened PSAC play yesterday evening with a hard-fought 2-0 win over visiting Pitt-Johnstown.

The Bald Eagles return to the field on Wednesday, September 24 at 2 p.m. on the road at PSAC-rival West Chester.
