Amspacher & Oldaker carry Haven to huge conference win

The LHU men’s soccer team picked up a huge three points on the road today at West Chester as the Bald Eagles won, 3-2 in thrilling fashion.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Troy Amspacher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) scored twice and Jacob Oldaker (Elliottsburg, Pa./West Perry) scored the game-winner in the 80th minute to lift the Lock Haven University men's soccer team (7-8-1, 6-3 PSAC) to a crucial, 3-2 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory at West Chester (5-7-3, 3-5-1 PSAC) today.
 
The huge three points on the road push the Bald Eagles to 18 points on the season in the PSAC standings, which has them currently sitting in a tie for third with Bloomsburg.
 
The match got off to a thrilling start as the two teams combined to scored two goals less than six minutes in.
 
West Chester went up 1-0 just 3:29 into the match after Kody Eberly knocked home a Robert Silva pass.
 
Less than two minutes later the Bald Eagles tied it at 1-1 after Amspacher scored the first of his two goals on the day. He knocked home a crossing-pass from TD Hunter (Lemont, Pa./State College).
 
The two teams were tied 1-1 at halftime, but again West Chester took the lead when Miguel Ross went one-on-one with LHU goalie Troy Teresak (Pompton Plains, N.J./DePaul Catholic), after grabbing a through ball, and before beating Teresak in the 53rd minute.
 
Amspacher was at it again in the 76th minute and tied the match at 1-1 as the Bald Eagles continued to fight on the road.
 
In the 80th minute Oldaker scored the game-winner when he ripped home a rebound in front of the net.
 
Teresak finished with four saves for the Bald Eagles.
 
The Bald Eagles return home on Saturday, October 24 to host Slippery Rock at 5 p.m. at Hubert Jack Stadium. Slippery Rock lost today to Seton Hill, 2-1 and The Rock sits three points behind Lock Haven in the league standings.
