SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (3-5, 2-0 PSAC) swept Shippensburg University (3-10, 0-2 PSAC) on the road today in the opening series of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play.

LHU won game one, 8-1 and the Bald Eagles took game two, 6-3.

Madison Neddo (Earlville, Md./Coppin State Univ.) pitched an outstanding game in the game one win. The senior right-hander threw all seven innings and scattered eight hits while striking out four in the win.

Ryan Henritzy (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead LHU at the plate.

Austin Botts (Seven Valleys, Pa./Wingate Univ.) went 2-for-2 in the game, including a two-run homerun to left field in the fourth inning. The homer was Botts' first of the season and 14
th of his career.

Brett Morrison (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and
Justin Sleigh (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) went 2-for-4 in his first career start.

Lock Haven trailed, 1-0 in the second inning when
Tyson Petersheim (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) singled home the tying run with two outs. Henritzy came up next and followed in Petersheim's footsteps with a two-run double to left field that gave the Bald Eagles a, 3-1 lead.

Morrison singled home two runs in the third inning to make the score, 5-1 and Botts' fourth inning homer pushed LHU's lead to a comfortable, 7-1.

The Bald Eagles added their final run in the seventh, a sacrifice fly by
Aaron Cummings (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville).

Lock Haven out-hit Shippensburg, 13-8 in the game and the Bald Eagles scored five of their eight runs with two outs.

Lock Haven's six runs came off of eight hits in game two and the Bald Eagles benefitted from four Shippensburg errors in the win.

Botts led the way for LHU in game two, going 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored.

Morrison also went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Joe Nestor (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) picked up his first win of the season on the mound. Nestor threw 4.1 innings on the day, allowing five hits while striking out five Red Raiders.

Morrison came in to throw the final two innings of the game in relief. He struck out two and didn't allow a run.

The Bald Eagles have now won three consecutive games.

Tomorrow's double header between Lock Haven and Shippensburg has been rescheduled for Monday, March 16 at Foundation Field. The game was pushed back because of poor field conditions.
