LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-2) outscored Penn State Altoona (0-1) by 25 points in the second half to secure the 84-53 victory.
Tonight marked the home opener for the Bald Eagles and they did not disappoint the fans at Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Haven dominated on both sides of the court as they shot 48.5% from the field, the bench scored 39 points and LHU secured 41 rebounds to PSU Altoona's 29. Lock Haven also forced 23 turnovers and capitalized on those scoring 28 points
The offense was let by a balanced attack as four players scored in double figures. Freshman
Ahnera Parker (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) paved the way as she netted 15 points shooting 6-10 from the field.
Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) and
Maimuna Kenneh (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium Charter) both chipped in with 12 points apiece.
Kayla Henderson (Philadelphia/Lackawanna College) went 4-5 from the field and added two free throws to bring her total to 10 points on the night, while also leading the team in steals with three.
Freshman
Bink Redman (York, Pa./William Penn) stepped up in a big way for the Bald Eagles, as she had nine points and dished out seven assists.
Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh capped off an all-around performance from LHU as she chipped in with six rebounds and six points.

The Bald Eagles will hit the road on Saturday, November 18, when they are set to take on Indiana (Pa.) at 1:00 p.m. This game will also be the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opener.
