LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-7, 0-5 PSAC) played a strong second half, but couldn't complete the comeback as they dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) home game to The University of Pitt-Johnstown (7-2, 4-1 PSAC) 56-34.
After a tough first half that left the Bald Eagles facing a big deficit, The Haven came out to start the second half by cutting a 22-point deficit to nine thanks to a 13-0 run. LHU held the Mountain Cats scoreless for the first seven and a half minutes of the third quarter, playing tenacious defense and grabbing every rebound in sight.
After Lock Haven made it 41-32, Pitt-Johnstown was able to use a 15-2 run to pull away and get the win.
The Bald Eagle defense was tremendous in the second half, holding UPJ to single digits in both the third and fourth quarters while only allowing 15 points total in the half. LHU also outrebounded the Mountain Cats 47-32 over the course of the game and forced 15 turnovers.
The LHU offense was led by
Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) as she tallied 13 points while
Mackenzie Livingston (Blairsville, Pa./IUP) chipped in with 10 points.
Maimuna Kenneh (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium Charter) was terrific on the glass for the Bald Eagles as she grabbed 16 rebounds, including seven offensive, to lead the team. Devine and

Lock Haven will return to the court on December 17 when the team travels to Wilmington, Delaware to take on Wilmington University in non-conference action. That game is set for a 1:00 pm tip.
