LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Freshman
Ahnera Parker (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) made her first career start and finished with 16 points – just shy of her career-high – but it wasn't enough as the Lock Haven University women's basketball team fell to first-place East Stroudsburg University (9-3, 7-1 PSAC), 91-60 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action.
The Bald Eagles (2-10, 1-7 PSAC) had three total players in double figures as
Kayla Henderson (Philadelphia/Lackawanna College) and
Madison McHale (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) both added 10 points to go along with Parker's 16.
Bink Redman (York, Pa./William Penn) added seven points and eight rebounds, while
Jordyn Kloster (Manchester, Pa./Millersville) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds to go along with eight points.
ESU led 41-23 at halftime. Imani Brown led the Warriors in the first half with nine points.
For Lock Haven, Parker scored eight points in the first half, as she was impressive from the opening whistle in her first career start.
Brown finished with a game-high 23 points for ESU. For the game, the Warriors shot 58 percent from 3-point range and finished with 15 3's.
Lock Haven will return to action on Monday (Jan. 8) when the Bald Eagles travel to No. 10 California (Pa.) University for a 5:30 p.m. tip. It will be the first of three games next week as LHU also travels to Shippensburg on Wednesday before hosting West Chester Saturday.
