FAIRMONT, W.Va. - The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-1) dropped a tough game to tournament host Fairmont State (1-1) 86-79 in their second game of the MEC/PSAC Challenge on Saturday afternoon in West Virginia.
The game was tied at 63 going into the fourth and final quarter, but the Fighting Falcons were able to outscore the Bald Eagles 23-16 in the final frame to pull ahead and get the win.
Offensively, LHU was led by Bink Redman (York, Pa./William Penn) and Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) as they each tallied 17 points in the game. Redman finished 7-12 from the field to go along with six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Devine finished 5-12 from the field with all of her shots coming from three-point range to go along with five rebounds and two assists.
Jordyn Kloster (Manchester, Pa./Millersville) and Ahnera Parker (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) rounded out four Bald Eagles that scored in double figures. Both Kloster and Parker finsished with 11 points with Parker grabbing nine rebounds and Kloster grabbing five.
Freshman Taylor Leidy (Alexandria, Pa./Juniata Valley) played a strong, all-around game for LHU, finishing with seven points, seven rebounds and five assists.
As a team, Lock Haven outrebounded Fairmont State 51-33 as the Haven had an 18-4 advantage on the offensive glass.
